OUR OBJECTIVES




The company’s objectives are to advance the education of the public in all aspects of the Black and Afro–Caribbean image, through the promotion and celebration of its Identity, Culture and Lifestyle, through Dramatic Arts and the development of public appreciation of such art by the provision of Theatre, Film, Television and facilities for the presentation of public performances:
  • A - Advancing education and raising awareness in equality and diversity.
  • B - Promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds.
  • C - Cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity.


Ananse Arts seeks to establish and provide a clear and unbiased voice for the Black community whilst establishing a media institution that works specifically to promote the Education, Celebration and the promotion of Afro-Caribbean and African history, identity and culture. We seek to network and establish links within the Black community both in the homelands and in the African and Afro-Caribbean diaspora.
  • 1. Ananse Arts will challenge unhealthy and dangerous stereotypes outside and within the black community. Through the exploration of these stereotypes we seek to expose the unhealthy ramifications of cultivating and believing in stereotypes.
  • 2. Creating true identity through the use of African and Afro-Caribbean Language, Accomplishments within the community, Family/Relationships, Education, History and Historical icons.
  • 3. Providing strong contacts, opportunities and networking possibilities within media around the globe for young performers and those who wish to work within Media.
  • 4. Host a variety of community events and initiatives which invite the community to debate and provide realistic solutions to issues that affect the Black community.
  • 5. Engage the Black community in political change and political interaction.
  • 6. Work with community groups, companies, charities, correctional and educational institutions to provide services, workshops and initiatives that improve the behaviours of troubled youth and find positive initiatives to focus the minds and abilities of children who have been excluded from school.
