PROJECT 10
PROJECT 10
Project 10 is an initiative that will enable Ananse Arts to fund their own Productions, Events and Projects continuously and indefinitely. One of the greatest obstacles for any production company or creative organisation, is securing long term renewable and stable streams of income. Running an Arts company can easily run into the thousands for even the smallest productions, let alone professional quality productions and the costs that are incurred. To be a part of the Project 10 initiative, you need to donate a minimum of £10 a month to the Project. You are free to donate as much as you can afford per month, but we are asking that donors provide a manageable consistent donation every month indefinitely in order to safeguard each and every one of our current programs and projects; as well as the safeguarding of future works.
By investing in Project 10, you will give Ananse Arts the power to create authentic, genuine, historically accurate, culturally relevant, positive programming.
Our object is to provide the public with national and International news, Entertainment, Factual and Educational programming and services which are not widely available in the current Media market.
By agreeing to fund project 10 you will help:
- Fund our productions and projects.
- Buying new equipment and insurance costs.
- Invest in developing future talent through our workshops.
- Cover our office and administration costs.
- Fund our local and community events.
- Start and own our own television channel.
- Fund future work with other non-profit and heritage organisations;
- Funding community initiatives designed to help develop the talents of Black youth and adults interested in learning and working in Media.
We will be able to stay independent, whilst being able to fund ourselves without having to be under the control of any financial body, organisation or private entity. Ananse Arts won’t have to worry about maintaining their integrity due to opposition from financiers, nor will we have to dilute our image, message or focus.
THEATRE
Project 10 will enable Ananse Arts to hold professional theatrical productions every year. Ananse Arts will produce up to 2 theatrical productions a year, these productions will require a small but talented cast and crew. Our vision is to provide a Christmas Pantomime for children and families, as well as an annual play specifically aimed towards teenage and adult audiences.
We will be holding a variety of workshops which are designed to help train and inspire Black youth interested in theatre, learn how to Write, Direct, Produce and act in their own plays.
TELEVISION CHANNEL
*** Coming Soon*** AATV (Ananse Arts Television) will be an independent television channel which will broadcast the best in Black content. AATV will feature a variety of programming ranging from daily morning shows, Entertainment, Discussion, Live coverage of Community Events, Talk shows, Travel, Game shows, Dramas and so much more.
AATV will also provide a twice weekly 30-minute news service providing information on local, national and news coverage from around the Caribbean and Africa. AATV will also provide engaging Cultural and Educational children’s programs.
FILM
Ananse Arts loves film and we want to be able to explore the importance of various stories and bring to life the characters within them. We will be creating a variety of short films throughout the year that will focus on different aspects of the Black experience, History, identity, Culture, Community and so much more. We will have regular screenings of the work we produce and the public will be invited, so they can find out more about those whom created the film and how they too can get involved.
FILM FESTIVALS
***Coming Soon *** Ananse Arts will be holding an annual Summer Film and Television festival which will cover a variety of categories, genres and topics. The importance of the Film Festival we will be holding is that the festival will be designed to celebrate, promote and showcase the work of young and talented Black youth and adults. We will be holding a variety of competitions that will provide youth with the incentive to create their own work and to see their work on the screen. The Film festival will incorporate workshops, masterclasses, networking opportunities, screenings and Q&As that will give interested parties industry insight and inspiration to make films and programming that will help them pursue their dreams and future careers. It is our hope that our film festival will give a voice to Black youth and induce them to speak about their experiences and communicate their feelings on the big screen.
